Salam! (hello)
slowly I arrive and start to believe that I am realy here. When I woke up this morning it toked like 2 seconds to understand where I was.
We (meet A in London) arrived well here in Baku, early in the morning. Did not sleep, since the flight was just not long enough. Sun was rising and every thing was a little bit like a very strange movie. Small oil field on the way to Baku, lots of very old sovietic and iranian cars,...
Meeting the people here at the office was great. B the project coordinator here in Baku walked us around in the city and gave us already soooooooo much information.
Today we went to a school in a small community of refugees (internal deplaced persons IDP)outside Baku in an area that was very industrial during soviet times. Now every thing is runned down. Empty buildings all over, pollution normal,... the school is in a old factory building. no material, no space,... but very motivated and lovely teachers. We are going to organize end of August a football evening with the kids that are around (most have left for holidays!?)
Now back in the office, waiting for our project manager. Hope to get some structure to put all the information, because right now I feel a little bit lost.
Will stay here for 2 - 3 weeks, and than leave for a town called -hm- something like Ischrim. Well its in between the two IDP settlements we are going to work. soon more...
lots of kisses to all of you
M
