heyhey, thanks Helena for you comment. Miss you too. Friends like you and a bench of other people in Geneva are not easy (impossible) to find. Have troubles here in Zambia to find/build new friendships. Takes a lot more time then it did for example in Azerbaijan and more time than I imagined. I also miss Geneva and its possibilities. The lake, bain des paquis, lots of coffee places, all kind of restaurants, SUSHI!, my bike, the feeling to be able to go anywhere in town with a bike, the feeling early in the morning at the lake after a night of dancing, buying food at Manor, hoping in bus for a few stations, Carouge, swimming in the lake, Sauna at bain des paquis, wind on the Mont Blanc bridge, the voice of announcements at the station, the woman (even though I don't really like her) who works at the bakery across the street, walking up rue des grottes and being happy that I am living in that part of Geneva, getting confused in les Eaux vives, to see the jet d'eau from everywhere, being able to buy newspaper from all over the world, to walk in the street together with people from all over the world, sitting at the lake and watching the waves, dancing at the usine (or elsewhere), making fun of Mr. videur de frigo, summer in Geneva with festivals every weekend, pain aux chocolates at 3am in the morning on the stairs in front of the building together with my neighbor and a drunk friend, libraries, passing at HEI and thinking of the torture-studding and my 30th-b-party, tappas at ole-ole, shopping at H&M, Promote and Zara, walking through the passage of Rialto ( mixture of "disgusting" smells, junkies or because of its ugliness?), waiting for green light at the cross road rue chantepoulet and cornavin and knowing exactly which lights turn green after another and when its best to walk when you in a hurry, passing by at dcaf in the evening and checking who forgot to turn off the light in their office (or who is still working), couples fights below my window and other neighbors who decide to "renverse" water on them, hearing French, Spanish, Russian, Arabic, and 10000 of other languages all the time, seeing the Mont-Blanc and other mountains, eating Maronni while walking in the old town, live music,... and rushing to a place to meet friends and share all of the above and lots more with them. But hey, got trapped in Zambia and I don't know what makes me more happy (staying or leaving) and if happiness is the only criteria to be taken into consideration. Maybe at one point I find a compromise. Like having a job that pays enough that I can effort to be regularly in Geneva. Have to do some homework in order to prepare for Tuesday (Interview). Cross fingers for me! big hug

wow, you made me remember why i enjoy living here so much :)
maybe you should get a job that brings you here for a few weeks every 2 months or so... or just come back and bring your lovely man with you - but perhaps a bit too a simplistic a view ;)
looking forward to seeing you in september. thanks for this lovely input in the meantime and crossing my fingers for you regarding the interview!!
ps. who's are those 2 houses in the pics?
